Help Shape the future of Helensburgh and Cardross

Argyll and Bute Council is inviting local communities to attend a drop-in event  and help shape a long-term vision for the future of Helensburgh and Cardross.

With its proximity and connectivity to the central belt, the wider Helensburgh area has been identified as a key area for growth in the council’s Local Development Plan 2 (LDP2). To support this, work is now underway to develop a Strategic Development Framework (SDF) that will guide sustainable development over the next 20 to 40 years.

This framework will explore how best to support future population growth while protecting the area’s natural assets. It will consider the infrastructure needed—such as schools, transport links, and housing—and how to balance development with the preservation of the key features of the green belt and scenic environment.

Although this meeting is more about building more houses over the next 20-40 period., iy is also  an opportunity to let Argyll and Bute know how you feel about the  Supermarket on the Pier.
