A&B Health and Social Care Partnership Joint Strategic Plan 2026-2031: Closes 10th December.

Evan Beswick, Argyll and Bute HSCP, Chief Executive Officer, said, “We are now entering a time of financial uncertainty as we look to establish what our priorities will be over the next five years. We want to continue the conversation with everyone in Argyll and Bute on whether we have these priorities right and how all of us, the HSCP, Communities, Families, and Individuals, can contribute to keeping healthy so that prevention is not just a concept but a reality. We want to hear how we can make a difference and how we continue to empower people to have their voices heard, their experience valued, and to hear collective evidence on how we work to meet our priorities.
We know we have challenges in delivering care rurally, and our demographic can be perceived as challenging. However, there is also an opportunity to be innovative using technology and developing community-based practices. We have an opportunity to lead in the development of care, preparing us for the future.”

Depopulation Research Survey-for younger people age 16-44: Closes November 9th 2025: extended to 16th November

Argyll and Bute Council is launching a new research initiative to better understand how a lack of suitable housing affects one of the area’s most pressing challenges: the decline in younger and working-age households.

Funded by the Scottish Government’s Addressing Depopulation Fund, the project will look at how housing influences people’s decisions to stay, leave, or relocate to the area.

The research will focus on two key areas:

Workforce housing: What types and numbers of affordable, suitable homes are needed to support Argyll and Bute’s current and future workforce?
Younger and working-age households: What are the experiences of people aged 16–44 living in Argyll and Bute? For those who have left, what influenced that decision—and could better housing options encourage them to return?

The Council is keen to hear from:

People aged 16–44 currently living in Argyll and Bute or considering a move to the area
Those who’ve left the region in the past 10 years and might be open to returning
Anyone with a friend or family member who fits this description and is willing to share their story
How You Can Help:
