A programme of music with a Valentine’s theme will include songs
by

Purcell, Britten, Arne, Debussy, Orff and Sondheim.

Sian Winstanley
Sian is probably best known locally as the highly regarded conductor of Helensburgh’s Dorian Choir. A coloratura soprano, Sian has sung with leading orchestras and opera companies across Europe and featured on BBC Radio Wales, BBC Radio 3, Radio France and Radio Naçionale de Espagna.

She is also a well-respected teacher, having trained several pupils into professional singing careers, but she equally loves teaching amateurs of all ages, abilities and musical tastes.
While in Cardiff, she taught at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama Junior Conservatoire and led the Community Choir and Chamber Choir.
She has acted as vocal animateur for the BBC National Chorus of Wales and run educational outreach projects for schools, choral societies, opera companies and theatres.
Sian has appeared with Scottish Opera where she made her debut singing Mabel in Gilbert and Sullivan’s The Pirates of Penzance.

Stephen Adam

Stirling born Stephen studied both cello and piano at the RSAMD and Royal Northern College before freelancing with orchestras in London and Birmingham. After a season in Spain, he was awarded the post of no.2 cello with Scottish Opera in 1980,since when he enjoyed a busy schedule of recitals on the music club circuit as a member of Csardas gypsy trio and the Morley string quartet. He performed for 40 years for the Council for Music in Hospitals, spent 10 years conducting the Peninsula choir and adjudicates and accompanies at music festivals. Last September he returned to Tbilisi and Yerevan, coaching opera and string students at their conservatoires.

Arrangements
As always the doors will open at 12.30pm. Entry is through the rear door of the church (via the ramped access) where you can pick up your sandwich and glass of wine or soft drink. The suggested donation is £15. 

All proceeds after expenses will go to the Rhu Church Tower Appeal.
