The consultation asks for your views on the regulation of short-term lets in Scotland. There has clearly been a significant growth in short-term lets in a small timescale and the consultation sets out the factual background, describes the issues arising, outlines local authorities current powers to address them and presents an overview of regulatory approaches elsewhere in the world. Your views will help the Scottish Government find the right approach for Scotland.

  • The PO equipment is still onsite but the Lottery equipment may have been moved.
  • Two options are still under investigation;
    • the Local Model as is operating in Helensburgh or
    • an Outreach model, but so far no other branch has agreed to help out with the latter.
  • It is therefore unlikely that the PO will reopen.

This is a message from the Friends of Geilston Gardens

 A petition that has been sent to the Scottish Parliament.  As you may know Geilston Gardens is managed by the National Trust for Scotland but the property is presently "at risk" of closure. If you  are concerned about the NTS policy of closing smaller properties or gardens then please consider signing the petition and asking others to do so. The petition is open until 9th of June and the Friends will be making a representation before the Petitions Committee of the Parliament at the end of June. The present chair is  Joanna Lamont.

Draft Clyde Regional Marine Plan: Closes 27th May 2019

The Clyde Marine Planning Partnership (CMPP) is in the process of developing a Clyde Regional Marine Plan.   The CMPP have produced a pre-consultation draft Clyde Regional Marine Plan (CRMP) that addresses the local issues and pressures on the coastal and marine environment. Argyll and Bute Council is part of the CMPP and  the plan covers the Kilbrannan Sound, Firth of Clyde, Loch Fyne and Loch Long areas.

The CMPP is interested in your views on the pre-consultation draft Plan and would like to hear your ideas on how it can be developed and improved.

20 April 2019SPT Transport Survey

Public survey  new Regional Transport Strategy UPDATE

Scottish Partnership Transport. SPT, designed a questionnaire and invited individuals to respond. 

In addition the CC  sent out a survey to everyone on our Mailing list and also put a link on the website, plus some paper copies in the Wee Brae Shop on Manse Brae. The response was not overwhelming!

The returns were collated and the results sent to SPT.
